Geschichte des Albums:

Der Titel des Albums „skying“ geht zurück auf die Maler John Constable und William Turner, die sich beide zeitlebens mit Wolkenstudien beschäftigt haben. Die einzelnen Klangstücke sind akustische Interpretationen verschiedener Wolkenarten. Die Titel der einzelnen Soundscapes haben ihren Ursprung in der Klassifikation der Wolken von Luke Howard. Das Cover dieses Albums zeigt einen Ausschnitt meines Gemäldes „Wolken (rot)“, welches auch auf www.christiandoil.de zu finden ist.

Story of the album (translated):

"Once the earth is completely covered with concrete boxes, the cloud games will still be there, and here and there people will keep a door to the divine open with the help of art." - Hermann Hesse

The title of the album "skying" goes back to the painters John Constable and William Turner, who both spent their lives studying clouds. The individual sound pieces are acoustic interpretations of different types of clouds. The titles of the individual soundscapes have their origin in Luke Howard's classification of clouds. The cover of this album shows an excerpt from my painting "Wolken (rot)", which can also be found on www.christiandoil.de .

Christian Doil is an ambient/drone/noise artist hailing from Germany who specializes in the creation of deep, textural, ambient drones. Starting out as a stonemason by trade, Christian later studied the technical aspects of construction and architecture, subjects that he now teaches professionally.
