Fabio Keiner and Jack Hertz present this special tribute to Eduard N. Artemyev. The Russian electronic music pioneer, who began composing on the legendary ANS Synthesizer in 1967. He is best known for his work with film director Andrei Tarkovsky on movies such as “Solaris” (1972) and “Stalker” (1979). His unique vision created a special language that is considered some of the most innovative electronic music soundtracks, even today.
This tributre recording was composed and performed entirely on the Virtual ANS Synthesizer. The original Russian ANS Synthesizer, invented by Evgeny Murzin in 1938, utilized photoelectronic technology to translate audio spectrogram drawings into sound. The ANS was used by Eduard Artemyev on his soundtracks for Solaris, Stalker, and other films. Read more about Eduard Nikolayevich Artemyev at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eduard_Artemyev

Christian Fiesel achieves unexpected combinations of timbres and melodies. The result is an expressive musicality to the point of melancholy. It expresses loneliness as a person and is inscribed in the infinity of time like a memory. An intimate and deep dimension, almost tragic, resonates from the depths of space, like a spiritual procession. This is what I feel listening to his music.... Eddy Sonik
