In Gaelic lore, the Sluagh are a great wind full of flapping wings and cacophonous shadow. They fly from West to East, descending upon villages to carry off the souls of the sick. Unwelcomed in both heaven and hell, these souls are doomed to join the host, perpetually roaming the skies, hunting other souls. It is said that Death Itself goes in fear of the Slaugh na marbh.
